Dr. Chloe Somers, OD
Dr. Chloe Somers graduated from Queen’s University with a Honours Bachelor of Science in Biology. She then went on to New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts to obtain her Doctor of Optometry. Her training focused on ocular disease and low vision, working in Veterans Affairs hospitals in Providence, RI and Buffalo, NY. She also spent time learning from a diverse group of ophthalmologists and optometrists in Miami, FL.
After practicing in Boston, Dr. Somers decided to return home to Ontario but remains board certified in both Canada and the United States.
Outside of work, she enjoys baking, traveling, and reading.
Dr. Fatima Esmail, OD
Dr. Esmail completed her undergraduate degree in her hometown of Montreal at McGill University, followed by her degree in Optometry at City University of London, in the United Kingdom.
Dr. Esmail is board certified by the Canadian Examiners in Optometry as well as Therapeutical Pharmaceutical Agents in Canada. In the United Kingdom, she is board certified by the General Optical Council.
She is a member of the College of Optometrists of Ontario, the Alberta College of Optometrists, the Association of Optometrists (U.K.) and the General Optical Council (U.K.).
Dr. Esmail has over 10 years of experience in managing a variety of eye conditions and concerns, using the latest technology and providing thorough and professional optometric care to her patients.
Dr. Amanvir Kahlon
Dr. Amanvir Kahlon graduated with her Doctor of Optometry degree at the University of Waterloo’s School of Optometry and Vision Science in 2020. Her interest in vision and eye health stemmed from her studies in life science – a double major in Biology & Psychology while at the University of Toronto. It was a 4th-year thesis course that allowed Dr. Kahlon to have firsthand experiences with infants with special needs where she realized a critical under-looked component to their care – vision.
She enjoys providing primary eye care to all age groups, but has a keen interest in pediatrics, dry eye, and refractive management via chontact lens and surgery co-management. She enjoys staying current on the latest diagnostics and treatment options, and provides therapeutics in areas including myopia control, glaucoma, and dry eye to name a few. Dr. Kahlon can provide care in Punjabi and is conversational in Hindi. Dr. Kahlon is a proud member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists (OAO) and the Canadian Association of Optometrists (CAO).
Outside of the office, Dr. Kahlon also loves to give back to both the local and global communities. She has volunteered on multiple occasions with the Special Olympics Opening Eyes Vision Screening Program providing eye care to children and adults with special needs. She has also enjoyed providing care to those with limited access to eye care professionals internationally in Moldova & Mexico while on volunteer mission trips. She is excited to continue her volunteer work and be an advocate for quality eye care for all.
During her free time, Dr. Kahlon enjoys cycling, traveling, and taste-testing local bakeries
Dr. Jai Sran OD
Dr. Sran is a US board certified Optometrist with a focus on Comprehensive primary care and ocular health. Passionate about community service, he volunteered at local schools providing reading and physical fitness classes and was actively part of the Lions Club during his Schooling.
In his free time, he likes playing basketball, boxing or playing tunes on his guitar.
Dr. Sran graduated from the University of Guelph with honors in Biological Sciences, and then moved to Boston where he completed his Optometry education at the New England College of Optometry.
Dr. Sran is an active member of the Ontario Association of Optometrists and the Ontario College of Optometrists
Dr. Shimon Cabrera, OD
Since 2015, Dr. Cabrera has been focused on improving the ocular health of his patients. Uniquely trained also as a pharmacist he can also detect when the medications a patient is taking is impacting the health of their eyes. Dr. Cabrera speaks Tagalog in addition to English. And in his spare time he is an accomplished musician, playing electric and acoustic guitar, keyboard as well as drums.

Dr. Issra Abdullah, OD
Dr. Issra Abdullah has practiced optometry in both Canada and the United Kingdom. She has conducted clinical rotations in primary care, pediatrics, ocular disease, and binocular vision. Dr. Abdullah has practiced in multiple settings and has a passion for diagnosis and management of ocular disease.
She truly enjoys forming relationships with her patients, seeing them and their families year after year and providing them with the highest level of care. In her spare time she loves playing board games, hiking, and exploring new coffee shops and restaurants in the city. Feel free to share any recommendations you may have with her! Retinal imaging takes a digital picture of the back of your eye. It shows the retina (where light and images hit), the optic disk (a spot on the retina that holds the optic nerve, which sends information to the brain ), and blood vessels. This helps your optometrist or ophthalmologist find certain diseases and check the health of your eyes.

The visual field test is a subjective measure of central and peripheral vision, or “side vision,” and is used by your doctor to diagnose, determine the severity of, and monitor your glaucoma. The most common visual field test uses a light spot that is repeatedly presented in different areas of your peripheral vision.
