Ever since Dr. Poonam Teja was given her first pair of eyeglasses in Grade 2, she has had a profound interest in Optometry and a strong desire to help others by taking time with each individual patient, ensuring they leave feeling well informed and taken care of.
Dr. Teja has a keen interest in dry eyes, myopia control, binocular vision, and vision training. Her passion for her work shines through in everything she does.
Dr. Teja always emphasizes the importance of eye exams every 1 to 2 years, whether patients can see clearly or rely on eyeglasses. Her main message is - do not wait until you are having issues with your eyes or your vision!
We are thrilled Dr. Teja is a part of the Cristall Opticians team!
Retinal imaging takes a digital picture of the back of your eye. It shows the retina (where light and images hit), the optic disk (a spot on the retina that holds the optic nerve, which sends information to the brain ), and blood vessels. This helps your optometrist or ophthalmologist find certain diseases and check the health of your eyes.
The visual field test is a subjective measure of central and peripheral vision, or “side vision,” and is used by your doctor to diagnose, determine the severity of, and monitor your glaucoma. The most common visual field test uses a light spot that is repeatedly presented in different areas of your peripheral vision.
